How my consults work

• The consult fee includes an initial 60‑minute phone or video call.

• After our call, you get unlimited follow‑up emails for this specific health or behavior issue until we reach a resolution or stable management plan.

• Each new, unrelated health/behavior challenge (in the same or different pet) is booked as a separate consult so I can give it the focus it deserves.

Who I am and why I can help

I’m April, a Certified Pet Nutritionist (C.P.N.) and Pet Master Herbalist (P.M.H.) with an A.S. degree in medical science. I’ve been studying pet health, nutrition, and holistic medicine continuously since 2010, and I’ve been a lifelong animal lover who has never gone a day without sharing my life with dogs and cats.

I have hands‑on experience with many breeds and types, including German Shorthaired Pointers, Golden Retrievers, Standard Poodles, Chihuahuas, Terriers, Maine Coons, domestic shorthair and longhair cats, Sphynx, and Bambino cats. My background as a professional cattery owner and dedicated pet caregiver has given me deep insight into real‑world health and behavior challenges.

Over the years, I’ve developed a strong working knowledge of:

• Optimal nutrition and feeding strategies

• Vaccine decision‑making and timing

• Nutritional and functional supplements

• Pharmaceutical medications (when and how they’re most appropriate)

Why I’m passionate about helping sick pets

My wide‑ranging perspective comes from my own serious health journey. I live with a rare, life‑threatening mitochondrial disease that causes chronic neuropathy, muscle weakness, primary immunodeficiency, gastrointestinal struggles, cardiac and connective tissue dysfunction, and chronic pain. Losing my previous medical profession was devastating, but it pushed me to pour my energy and hard‑earned knowledge into helping others — especially animals and the people who love them.

Because of this lived experience, I understand what it’s like to navigate complex medical information, manage chronic conditions, and advocate for better care. I bring that same determination and compassion to every pet and pet parent I work with.

My approach to healing

I believe in using natural modalities whenever possible to help reverse current health challenges and bring the body back into a state of balance (homeostasis). At the same time, I strongly support a thoughtful integration of both natural and conventional medicine.

In my view, ignoring either natural or conventional medicine is not common sense — it’s stubbornness — and it can prevent animals from getting the full spectrum of care they could benefit from. My goal is to help you make informed, balanced decisions so your pet gets the best of both worlds.
