IM100 is a short course aimed at students commencing their studies
for the AMC Examination, or for those who are lost in the exam content or how to prepare
for the AMC exam.
Many International Medical Graduates study hard for the AMC Exams,
yet do not pass the exam. In many cases, this is due to a misunderstanding of the
breadth and depth of material required, incorrect prioritisation or selection of study
material, poor study planning, and incorrect study techniques.
The Essentials for AMC Exam Preparation Course (IM100) teaches these
principles to allow a framework from which to base your preparation. In essence, the
course teaches candidates how to pass the AMC exam. Candidates can use the information
provided in this course to direct their own ideal study plan, or use the course in
conjunction with other IME AMC Preparation courses.
Subject Structure
IM100 provides AMC candidates with insights into how to optimally
prepare for the AMC Examinations, by maximising and directing student efforts.
The course objectives include:
Develop an understanding of the
rationale, structure and expectations of the AMC Examination including the AMC
CAT MCQ Exam and the AMC Clinical Exam
Develop an understanding of the
examinable syllabus, the breadth and depth of content required and the requisite
standard to pass the examination
Candidates access the above medicine interview theory modules via
IME's dedicated student portal. This Online Learning Management System also provides the
student with various tools and advanced e-learning strategies to facilitate their learning.
Entry requirements
The Essentials for AMC Exam Preparation Course (IM100) course is
designed for international medical graduates who wish to pursue a future career in
medicine in Australia. To be eligible to enrol in this program, candidates must have
completed, or be in the process of completing an internationally recognised medical

Course fees include access to the online modules and workshops for 365 days. Further fees apply for

AMC candidates are provided with a method of studying for the exam.
This method focuses on both the content that needs to be covered, but also (and more
importantly) how best to study this content. The subject also includes a study syllabus
covering all important aspects of AMC exam preparation and includes full-length trial exams in
both the AMC CAT MCQ and the AMC Clinical Exam, each with worked solutions or ideal responses,
that provide insight into the depth and breadth of knowledge required for success.

This IME International course is designed by Specialist Doctors and
Senior Lecturers from leading Australian University Medical Schools and Teaching
