Allows you to use your Nintendo classic pre-JAMMA Donkey Kong TKG3 or Radar Scope PCBs, in a JAMMA cabinet or a super gun device.
While most of Nintendo games produced between 1980 and 1984 used the same pinout, the early games did not. During the very early 80s, Nintendo used hardware that consisted of multiple smaller boards (3 or 4) that could be used in cocktail cabinets. Instead of an edge connector, a series of headers were used for cabinet connectivity. This type of connector was used on games like Space Firebird and others, but only the TKG3 Donkey Kong and Radar Scope boardsets have these connectors in the same location that serve the exact same function.
There are different versions of the TKG3 sound boards. Some have a built-in audio amp, some do not. This adapter supports both. The adapter also has a built-in audio amp that can be bypassed with a single jumper, and a low cost, high speed video inverter that converts the inverted video to a signal that is compatible with the JAMMA standard. The signal DC offset for each color (Red, Green and Blue) can be adjusted to display properly on a standard arcade monitor.
The cables required to connect the PCB to the adapter are included, however the rainbow interconnect cables for the PCB layers are not. Please ensure your PCB still has those.
