Right on the mark

Vintage Oris catalogs from around the turn of the last century show pocket watches with a distinctive two-tone, concentric design. Over the following century, this "bullseye" dial design would appear time and again in the Holstein maker's wristwatches, enjoying high popularity in the mid-20th century. The Bullseye made its final appearance back in 1998 and hasn't been seen since – until now. 

This new Big Crown Pointer Date 'Bullseye' is based on Oris' best-selling 38mm Big Crown Pointer Date. It has an oversized crown, a fluted bezel and an automatic mechanical movement powering that signature complication with the bright red crescent-shaped date indicator, which makes its monthly jog around the grey and white dial.

The Oris Big Crown Pointer Date is, without question, the most important watch in Oris’s rich history. First introduced in 1938 as a pilot’s watch, it has been a collection mainstay ever since, becoming Oris’s signature design. Its oversized crown was originally intended for gloved airmen but now serves a more aesthetic purpose, while the iconic pointer date function is now internationally recognized as a symbol of Oris’s mechanical inventiveness.
