There were a number of different makers of "Eye Ointment" in late 19th century England, meant to cure all sorts of eye diseases, and leaving behind some wonderful jars and graphics. This little vessel I believe may have been an advertising giveaway, and I believe meant to catch the liquid from an eye wash. In addition to the fantastic graphics, I love the form of it, looking like a miniature bourdaloue, and so of course also making me think of Duchamp's urinal (combined with Man Ray's metronomic eye!) Quite a marvelous little thing I think! 

3 5/8" l x 2" w x 1 1/2" t. Overall good condition. Some scattered stains and native imperfections, much more pronounced in photos (magnified) than to the eye. No cracks, notable chips, repairs or other issues that I can see.
