Seymour Duncan Slash APH-2N Neck Humbucker – Reverse Zebra

Slash is known for some of the most iconic riffs, licks, and solos in rock ’n’ roll. To capture the ferocious tone heard on his records with Guns N’ Roses, Velvet Revolver, and his solo projects, Slash and Seymour Duncan worked together to create his signature pickup designs, including the legendary Slash humbuckers.

When Slash received the honour of a Gibson Les Paul Signature model, Seymour Duncan initially sent over the same Alnico 2 Pro humbuckers he had relied on for decades. The new guitars, however, didn’t respond quite like his original AFD Les Paul. This challenge led Seymour Duncan back to the drawing board, resulting in the Slash Signature Model humbucker – voiced to push a stock Les Paul toward the sustain, crunch, and midrange character of Slash’s famed Derrig Les Paul copy.

This APH-2N neck-position humbucker uses a refined magnet wire and winding recipe paired with an Alnico 2 bar magnet to deliver the warm, singing response and expressive dynamics associated with Slash’s tones. It excels at classic rock rhythm work, articulate lead lines, and smooth, sustaining solos.

Each Slash humbucker is hand built in Santa Barbara, California, just like the originals Seymour crafted in the ’80s. Construction details include a nickel silver bottom plate, maple spacer, paper tape, and wax potting for controlled feedback and reliable performance on stage or in the studio.
