Les Siecle's Requiem by Fauré! Les Siecle has recorded Fauré's masterpiece "Requiem". However, the conductor is not Roth but Mathieu Romano. He conducted the chorus of Ensemble Edes, a hand-picked chorus group, to exquisite effect in Roth's "Daphnis et Chloe" disc, and this time, the Ensemble Edes plays the leading role in this album. This time, the Ensemble Eades plays the leading role. Only the Requiem, which requires accompaniment, is performed by Les Siecle, making this an extravagant album. In addition, it is noteworthy that Louis-Noël Bestion de Camboula, who also released an interesting new album on Harmonia Mundi, plays the organ part in the "Requiem". He is a surprising presence. Debussy's "Three Songs of Charles d'Orléans" is performed from the first draft in the collection of the Bibliothèque Nationale de Paris. It is surprising that it is very different from the current version. Poulenc's "The Face of Man" for double chorus on a poem by Éluard is, like the Violin Sonata from the same period, a work filled with Poulenc's feelings about the resistance movement during World War II. The restrained emotion is extremely moving. Romano and Ensemble Edes are truly the Les Siecle of choral music, allowing us to fully enjoy the splendor of the voice with its crystal clear sound.
